✦ Become a patroller

Watch out for your neighbourhood. Get paid to do it.

Earn extra income and be a hero to your street. Run a DriveByView Neighbourhood Patrol — deliver high-quality patrols with annotations and redacted dashcam video, and homeowners in your area subscribe to your read of the street. You set the price, you own the route, you keep a generous share plus 100% of tips.

Dashcam video is AI-redacted before it ever surfaces, a home's exterior history stays owner-only, and you moderate everything on your map.

Two ways to patrol

Drive it, or help from your phone.

Pick the commitment that fits you. A driver runs the whole patrol as their own thing; a volunteer lends an extra set of eyes. Either way, you're looking out for the street you live on.

Owner-operator

Driver

Patrol your neighbourhood by vehicle with a provided hazard-aware AI dashcam. You own the route, set your own price, and run your community map as your own small business — keeping a generous share of every subscription plus 100% of tips. Drive on a schedule, log what you see with one tap, and dashcam clips (AI-redacted) surface on your map.

  • You define the routes and an expected schedule range
  • You set your price and keep a generous share + 100% of tips
  • You moderate the whole map

Best if you can commit to a regular schedule. One or more drivers can serve the same area.

Lower commitment

Volunteer contributor

Help your street without running a full route. Contribute observations straight from your own phone — no dashcam needed. A local driver moderates every submission and decides what actually posts to the map. Think of it as being an extra set of eyes for your block.

  • Contribute from your phone — no equipment to install
  • A driver in your area curates and moderates every post
  • Drivers can allow or block volunteers on their map

Best if you want to help your street without running a full route.

How it works

Your patrol, in four steps.

This is the driver's loop — the rhythm of running your own neighbourhood patrol.

  1. Define your coverage & schedule range

Pick the routes you'll cover and an expected schedule range — say, twice daily, dawn and dusk. The actual route varies day to day; homeowners know the range, not a fixed track.

  2. Drive & annotate

Run your route and log what you see with one tap — a loose dog, a speeder, dry brush, a parcel left at a door. The provided dashcam auto-captures as you pass, and every frame is AI-redacted.

  3. It lands on your community map

Subscribers get your read of the street every pass, with redacted clips attached. You moderate everything that appears — including volunteer submissions — so the map stays trustworthy.

  4. Build your subscriber base

Set your price and keep a generous share plus 100% of tips. Special requests — an evening pass, a specific street — often turn a neighbour into a recurring Home View subscriber.

How you earn

A few evening passes can become a real monthly income.

You're the owner-operator. You decide what your patrol is worth to your street, and the earning grows as the neighbourhood signs on.

Subscriptions

Neighbours subscribe to your patrol, and you keep a generous share of every subscription. Final rates are set in your patroller agreement.

100% of tips

Subscribers tip for special trips — an evening pass, the back alley, a specific street. Every dollar of it goes straight to you.

Special requests → Home View

A tip-funded special trip often turns that neighbour into a Home View subscriber — recurring revenue you helped create.

You set the price

Charge what your patrol is worth to your street. It's your business — you own the pricing.

Earnings framing is illustrative — there are no guaranteed amounts. Final rates are confirmed in your patroller agreement.

Time-of-day & special requests

The little asks are where the loyalty — and the revenue — grow.

Subscribers can set a time-of-day preference and tip for special trips. These little asks are gold: they deepen loyalty, and they convert into Home View subscribers and extra income for you.

🌅 "Prefer the dawn pass, please" 🌆 "Can you do my street on the evening drive?" 🔦 "Can you check the back alley?" 🐕 "Extra pass — new puppy keeps escaping!"

A custom DriveByView-hosted neighbourhood page where you publish your daily routes — so homeowners in your area get a daily view of their home for better observability, and an easy place to subscribe.

You're in control — and it's built to be trusted

You run the map. The system keeps it honest.

A patrol only works if the whole street can trust it — subscribers, neighbours, and non-subscribers alike. So the rules are the same for everyone:

Common questions

Fair questions, straight answers.

What's the difference between a driver and a volunteer?
A driver runs a full vehicle patrol with a provided AI dashcam and owns the map — the route, the price, and the moderation. A volunteer contributor submits observations from their own phone; a local driver moderates those submissions and decides what posts. Drivers earn from subscriptions and tips; volunteers are lending an extra set of eyes.
What can I earn?
As a driver, you set your own price, keep a generous share of every subscription, and keep 100% of tips. We don't publish guaranteed numbers — a patrol's earnings depend on your area, your cadence, and how many neighbours subscribe. Final rates are confirmed in your patroller agreement.
Do I need special equipment?
Drivers get a provided hazard-aware AI dashcam plus the patrol app — we supply and maintain the camera. Volunteer contributors need nothing but their phone.
Is the video private?
Yes. Dashcam video is AI-redacted — plates and faces blurred — before anything surfaces, including on your own map. A home's exterior history is visible only to that address's verified owner, never public or browsable. And you moderate everything that appears on your map.
Do I control what gets posted?
Completely. You moderate all observations, including volunteer submissions, and you can allow or block volunteers from contributing to your map. Nothing posts that you didn't approve.
